Garden of Wisdom Vitamin C 23% + Ferulic Acid Serum

I had been looking at the Skin Ceuticals CE Ferulic Serum but it’s ten times the price of this one and I had read great reviews on it, so decided to try it, and it doesn’t disappoint. If uneven skin tone, dullness, and pigmentation are your bugbears, this is a super Vitamin C serum that will work hard to treat all of those concerns. It provides high-strength pure L-ascorbic acid and ferulic acid to brighten and even out skin tone whilst also giving protection against daily environmental aggressors, like pollution and UV damage. It also enhances the production of collagen (we love this!) The addition of Ferulic acid is a bonus as it’s also great for protecting skin against aging. The serum itself is lovely and lightweight, non-greasy, and really brightens and freshens the skin. As the percentage (23%) is so high, for me this is an evening serum and I use it alternate nights with my retinol. If you are on the lookout for a Vitamin C serum, I think give it a go. Any of the Garden of Wisdom serums I have tried have been delivered and the price point is another bonus £10 from victoriahealth.com

Murad AHA BHA Exfoliating Cleanser

Love, love, love this and it’s my second empty. It’s a mild exfoliating cleanser that cleanses and gently polishes skin to reveal brighter, smoother skin and it does! It contains a blend of Alpha Hydroxy Acids and Beta Hydroxy Acids, namely, glycolic, salicylic, and lactic acid. Absolutely super for getting rid of dead skin cell buildup, but it won’t leave your skin dry or tight. It contains hydration and jojoba seed oil to give moisture and prevent any dryness. Throw in some liquorice for brightening and anti-inflammatory properties and you have an efficacious cleanser that does what it says. It feels a little gritty due to the jojoba beads, which polish and re-texturize. I use it twice a week in the morning and wouldn’t be without it. Tube number three has been ordered, €43 from Cloud10 Beauty

CeraVe Foaming Cleanser

Once this is empty I buy another and I use the two types, the hydrating, and the foaming. Super for removing makeup, it is so gentle and great for sensitive skin types. It’s a gel that transforms into a weightless foam that removes all the impurities and makeup of the day whilst maintaining the strength of the natural barrier function. It contains ceramides, which work to keep water in our skin, and hyaluronic acid which gives great hydration. Also, in the formula is Niacinamide, which is super for pores and soothes any irritation. If you are looking for an effective gentle cleanser that does no harm you have to try this. Great for teens too. The foaming one is for normal to oily skin and the hydrating one is for normal to dry. I flit between the two depending on how my skin is. Available from Boots and selected pharmacies nationwide. €10.99

Dr. Hauschka Shower Cream

This is a lovely gentle, nourishing shower cream with an invigorating lemon and lemongrass scent to instantly waken and refresh skin. No matter how tired you are in the morning, once you start applying this, the scent just wakes you up. I love it because it leaves skin really smooth and hydrated with its blend of oils, namely sunflower seed oil, avocado Oil, and quince seed extract. It also makes for a lovely gift for someone. They have recently changed the packaging, which is now a tube, I have both but thankfully the wonderful formula remains the same, €15.95, available in selected pharmacies/health stores nationwide.

Spotlight White Teeth Mouthwash

A new addition to the Spotlight family, the White Teeth Mouthwash is Specially formulated to give you all the oral care benefits you need along with teeth whitening effects and stain prevention properties. It contains active seaweed particles and hydrogen peroxide and apart from the whitening effects, I love the self-filling lid which ensures you only fill the correct amount of mouthwash. I like to use the mouthwash in conjunction with the toothpaste (I’m on my sixth tube) which for me is a great pairing and I’ve already bought my second one, enough said! €12.99, available in selected pharmacies and online from cosmeticsonline.ie
