Medik 8 Surface Radiance Cleanse

A bestseller for Medik8, Surface Radiance Cleanse is formulated with mild AHAs and BHA’s, namely Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid, and Salicylic Acid which gently exfoliates and refreshes the skin without leaving it feeling dry or tight. Salicylic Acid also decongests blocked pores and reduces the amount of surface sebum. While it’s marketed for oily/problematic skin, my normal/combination skin loves it and I use it as a second cleanse. The formulation also contains natural extracts which provide the skin with essential vitamins and calcium to keep it healthy and clear. Massage a small amount onto damp skin before rinsing with warm water. You can use once or twice a day. I buy mine from Skin City £16

Dr. Hauschka Shower Cream

This has featured in my empties before, with the old packaging, but this recently finished one has the new packaging and the same great formula – I call it my “Wake Me Up Shower Gel”. A gentle, nourishing shower cream with invigorating lemon and lemongrass scent to instantly waken and refresh skin. No matter how tired you are in the morning, once you start applying this, the invigorating scent just wakes you up. It leaves skin smooth and hydrated with its blend of oils, namely sunflower seed oil, avocado oil, and quince seed extract, and is one of my favorite shower creams. Available in selected pharmacies/health stores nationwide and from Dr. Hauschka Ireland €15.95 (It’s a beautiful gift for someone too)

Murad Nutrient Charged Water Gel

If the cold weather has been playing havoc with your skin, this cocktail of peptides, vitamins, and minerals delivers a surge of moisture to the skin which plumps and smooths the look of skin while alleviating dryness and rejuvenating the skin. This has been featured on my Instagram grid a few times. It’s an oil-free moisturizer with a lovely lightweight gel texture (I prefer lighter products on my skin), and it contains a revolutionary Cumulative Hydration-Release Technology that instantly locks moisture to the skin and increases retention for up to five days. I have been using this as a night treatment, and if my skin needs some extra hydration I apply it under my SPF.

As with all Murad products, the formulation is King. This contains the B vitamins or Beauty Vitamins as I call them! Namely, Vitamin B3 works to improve skin health by boosting moisture retention and keeping water in your skin. Vitamin E is a super antioxidant and nutrient that protects our skin from environmental aggressors. Minerals like Iron, Zinc, Copper, and Magnesium, help improve skin tone and texture, and Peptides, when applied topically to the skin, act as little messengers, triggering skin cells to perform specific functions such as building collagen and elastin and encouraging the skin to look and act younger. Suitable for all skin types but especially beneficial for dry and/or oily skin types, it’s available on a good few websites and comes in at around €58.

Dr. Sam Bunting Daily Flawless Sunscreen

This was Featured in my “What I’m loving” video back in July. If you have struggled to find an SPF broad-spectrum product that sits well under makeup and doesn’t clog your pores, this is for you. For me, this doubles up as my moisturizer as it is very hydrating. It has a super formulation, fortified with 5% Niacinamide, so it brightens and boosts skin whilst helping keep pores clear and skin calm and it provides broad-spectrum protection. It’s kind of like a serum in sunscreen. Remember though, with sunscreen you do need to apply a generous amount to attain the level of SPF50 – two to three pumps. Apply and wait a minute or two for your skin to absorb and then you can start applying your makeup without fear of piling. Available direct from Dr. Sam Bunting £29 and shipping is £10 – this is a repeat purchase and one I know I’ll be making again.
